Australia's first cat café will soon unlock its doors after the owners launched they have found the "perfect location" nearby the popular Queen Victoria Sell.
Speaking to SmartCompany, Anita Loughran according to the idea of a cat café in Melbourne came after her husband encouraged it after visiting Japan by reason of honeymoon.
"He just kind of through the idea out there and I just could not stop thinking about it, " she says.
Kitty cafés are popular in China, where customers can pat an amiable feline while enjoying brunch booklet cup of coffee.
Loughran says one of the biggest challenges the business venture faced was making sure that you comply with local council regulations.
"It finished take three months for us to get accord from them and with the permission there was an index of regulations we're going to have to abide to, " she says. "We wish to have airlocks between any food neighborshoods and the cat areas and just a great deal to do with the health and hygiene side. "
Loughran says this includes carpet cleaning stations for customers to wash their two hands with soap and hot water before & after touching the cats.
One of the business's other obstacles, said Loughran, started property owners turning them down within their didn't want cats to be in the premises. However , her advice to individuals with a quirky business idea seriously isn't to give up.
"It can be hard, even in a town like Melbourne where there's oftentimes quite different things around and you would think people would be more unbiased, " says Loughran. "It's girl persistence and if one way of doing things doesn't work, do it a different in the future. "
Loughran says the business has an outstanding loan for a lot to the popularity of cats web-based.
"I can't tell you why dogs have taken over the internet, " she says. "But it's definitely helped us. There is got a lot of followers on web 2 .. "
According to Loughran, Twitter and Facebook appeared to be integral in raising awareness of the particular business idea. The business has more than 7000 likes on Facebook.
The ideas has also launched their last crowdfunding campaign on website Indiegogo to make sure you help cover refurbishment costs on the shopfront—a space which was a lot far more and older than they originally predicted.
"Reaching out on social media you never become aware of who's going to come back with some helpful hints or help, " says Loughran. "It completely changes the way institution is done. "

"As the business grows we will be able to generate the menu and meals, " she says.
Cat Café Melbourne should be located at 375 Queen Shopping mall, adjacent to the iconic Queen Victoria Sell. Loughran says an online booking model will be set up on the business's site in order to prepare for an influx of consumers.
The café hopes to be open via July and will be working with the Geelong Animal Welfare Society.
