Fortification Collins solar energy company lands yucky deal

Advanced Utilities Industries announced Tuesday that it has recently landed a major deal with a San Francisco-based provider of solar products.

Swinerton Renewable Energy requested 325 megawatts of solar projects from Developed Energy, a global solar energy services business headquartered in Fort Collins. The firms did not immediately disclose how much Swinerton will spend on Advanced Energy's 1000NX inverters for the projects.

The 1000NX inverters turns the energy coming from sections into a current that can be used by a town stand-alone power system or given into a commercial electrical grid. Installing the inverters and start of the items is expected to begin in 2015 coupled with continue through the middle to end of most 2016, Advanced Energy said on a news release.

"After evaluating the inverter market, we determined that the Developed Energy 1000NX inverter will allow involving to maximize our solar energy production whilst reducing balance of system coupled with construction costs, " Swinerton vp George Hershman said in a article.

The Swinerton order is by far the order for inverters the Developed Energy has received since starting over 1981, according to the photovoltaics-focused news web PV-Tech. org.

Last year, Advanced Utilities reported $221 million in photovoltaic inverter revenue, down 12 for every cent year-over-year. Solar Inverter revenue made up 37 percent of Advanced Energy's total revenue ($583 million) over 2014.

As of Dec. 31, the issuer employees 1, 583 people across the globe. The company manufactures inverters in Fortification Collins, Canada and China.
